Airthrie’s Services

Supported Living

Airthrie’s supported living service is a Domiciliary care service which offers highly skilled support staff to adults 18-65 with a Learning Disability.

Supported living enables the service user to become a real tenant, Airthrie works in conjunction with Airthrie Housing, which is owned by a private landlord. This landlord provides high quality spacious shared housing situated within Goodmayes.

Our supported living service focuses on promoting social inclusion and integration and uses the positive behaviour model where the service user is always at the heart of the planning process to help realise their potential and aspirations.

We recently promoted our supported living service at a transition meeting hosted by Redbridge where we outlined how children can access our services and work with Airthrie during their transition to adult services.

Home Care

Home care allows our carers to visit users in the comfort of their own home, this allows users to stay in contact with their local community and with friends and family, our carers will provide support with finances and support users in maintaining their current skills and hobbies, within our home care we give you the chance to socialise with other home care clients to avoid isolation. We take people from the council and private self referrals

Minibus Care

We offer care homes and local authorities the chance to hire our minibus if we have the availability. Our driver is DBS checked, safe, effective and has good time keeping.

Holiday

In September some of our Service users enjoyed a staycation in Deal, Kent. They took part in many activities including trips to the seaside, Deal castle and shopping in the high street. Service users enjoyed the holiday and would love to go again.

Multi-me update

Our most recent updates are that the staycation has been documented on MultiMe and that Airthrie, after successfully being part of the pilot, MultiMe are now live and running across other services. Our service user’s profiles are now being extended over to their day centres and other services they use to document their day-to-day life, goals and targets.

Airthrie are working closely with Rix staff and students to devise Airthrie’s own wiki to set organization goals and targets and to also assist Airthrie buddies with working on their individual interests and hobbies.

Sensory room

Our Sensory Room is here to help you feel calm and relax (helping improve emotional regulation). It is a safe space to explore person centered health and wellbeing, through all senses.

The aim is to promote self advocacy, the importance of looking after yourself physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially. Providing activities such as meditation, breathing exercises, yoga, music, audio books, reading, multi-me, educational training etc.

Airthrie are working to implement Morning/Evening checking in called How are you? We check in on Staff regularly to see how they are. Airthrie offer staff health packages to manage their own mental health. Airthrie understand the importance of reflection, debriefing, celebrating achievements, goals and targets.
