CQC Standards

In this month’s newsletter we would like to talk about Regulation 15: Premises and equipment.

Premises and equipment was established as Regulation 15 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulation 2014 with the intention of making sure that premises where care and treatment are delivered are clean, well-maintained, suitable for purpose and appropriately located. This includes ensuring that equipment used to deliver care and treatment is clean, suitable for purpose, maintained, stored securely and used properly. Here at Airthrie we ensure that as soon as maintenance issues are identified they are repaired as soon as possible and our support workers with the help of our tenants keep the home clean.

Thank you

We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has helped support Airthrie homes during the Covid-19 pandemic, thank you to all charities and councils who have donated PPE, thank you to all professionals who are still providing valuable support for our tenants, thank you to all tenants friends and family who have been understanding of our restrictions on visiting and lastly thank you to all Airthrie staff who have still been supporting our service users.

Black Lives Matter

More than 4,000 miles away from Airthrie road in Minneapolis George Floyd lost his life. That incident made us pause and reflect on racism. We felt so moved by this we couldn’t sit by silently.

At Airthrie Homes we are an Equal Opportunities employer and believe in Equality and justice for all. We do not discriminate against Race, Gender, Age, Disability, Culture, Sexual Orientation or class. We would like to contribute to systematic change in Society, where we always believe and support All lives matter, but we also recognise and support the importance of Black lives matter.

“Look in the mirror and ask yourself, am I treating people unfairly, or am I treating people the way I want to be treated”

Misty

On the 21st June one of our service users pet Cat Misty sadly passed away, He was 14 years old and will be sadly missed at the home.
